Latin: Chamaebatia foliolosa

Plant type: Small shrub

Size: 1½’ x spreading

Light: Light shade

Water: Moderate once established

Family: Rose

Zone: 6 - 7

Kit Kit Dizzy is a low-growing shrub that spreads into dense, knee-high thickets in the open pine forest. The foliage is dark, grey green, and finely divided into tiny, crowded segments, resembling fern leaves. White flowers open from mid to late spring to mid-summer. On warm days, the resin, which is highly flammable, emits a pleasant fragrance [26].

It needs excellent drainage, moderate water in the summer, and full or part shade. It can be difficult in the garden setting and invasive once established, outcompeting other plants [27].
