Karen Callahan’s photographs are featured in three recent books about the Sierra Nevada’s native plants: Wildflowers of Nevada and Placer Counties, California (Redbud Chapter and CNPS Press, 2007), 500 Sierra Wildflowers (CD, Hartman Multimedia, 2005), and Sierra Nevada Wildflowers (Author Karen Wiese, Falcon Press, 2000).
As a freelance photographer, Karen has sold images to Peaceful Valley Farm Supply, McGraw-Hill, Sutter Hospital, 3 Com Corporation, Sierra Heritage Magazine, Sierra College, Tahoe National Forest, and many other clients. Karen sells her photographs as note cards and prints. She also leads field trips for environmental groups and has a special interest in rare plants of the northern Sierra region.
