Hi Alicia,
Just purchased a Toyon from Peaceful Valley and did not realize til I got it home that it is a Heteromeles arbutifolia ‘Davis Gold’ with yellow berries – I am guessing I can use the berries from this as I would with the red berry species, but wanted to check to make sure? many thanks!

Alison,
I haven’t tried the berries from the Davis Gold variety but I would assume they are similar. I would suggest preparing in the same way as the red (dried and ground or as cider) and then giving it a taste. Let me know what you discover!
